Hey there just had a question about these prints. Is there a difference between the etsy prints and the ones on Giantrobot? I see they're the same size but $5 more on Giantrobot. Is it different paper that they're printed on that makes the difference?
They are the same prints. They’re $5 more because galleries usually take 50%. I will be raising my print prices by a dollar or so in my shop, sometime in the near future. Because i just lost my last source of regular income. Thank you for being observant, sweet, and supportive! ♥
$100 is incredibly reasonable for the work that goes into a portrait. I really dislike this entitled attitude that people have about art prices. :/
Thanks! I do think it’s strange people complain about how expensive art is. Most people don’t know how much time it takes to create something. Or see how much art supplies really cost, it really adds up! Even artists go to school, which is often costs more than typical university fees.
I love what i do, and i regret nothing, but it’s upsetting to see people undervalue art when they’d sooner spend a lot on things that don’t last. Or are machine made/ mass produced. If you want cheap, take a photo! ♡
I hope that person meant, "IS IT REALLY $100, THAT IS A GREAT DEAL" because it is. People don't realize how much time and effort goes into something like a portrait! If you were charging by the hour, it would probably be much more expensive. Keep on doing the wonderful work darling!
Thank you! ♥ I would hope they mean that too, but I’m not sure. It does take a lot of time and I enjoy doing them. I don’t charge a lower price just because I enjoy drawing.
I’m currently making under minimum wage if you were to tally it up hourly. I fully intend to make a living at what I do, so eventually I will be raising my rate. However It’s enough for right now and i’m thankful people are passionate about my work!
I’ve been slowly getting into “oldies” music. Grew up hearing latina, r&b, reggae and funk around the house. Getting my hands on my first rock n’ roll album was special. I haven’t stopped surrounding myself with it since. Oldies has been something I’ve been falling in love with as I’ve gotten more interested in the past.
Lately i’ve been listening to Buddy Holly, Cole Porter, Peggy Lee, Elvis, Wanda Jackson, The Andrew Sisters, and the Chordettes. I started laughing about it, but i’ve developed a fascination with Elvis and Little Richard.
Thinking of doing an auction of of a lot of my older work. Some i’ve been hoarding/ keeping for myself. Some I want to clear out to make space for new art! To buy more supplies, etc.
I definitely want to make a pre-order for prints of my newer work. I can also re-stock things that are out of stock for you! I need to do one so i can pay for the prints and gauge how many people are interested. Are you interested?
